Timestamps of big takeaways
The Path to Self Improvement
[01:10] Coach Caroline met Coach Valerie when she was recovering from knee surgery. Thanks to many of the lessons and training from Coach Valerie, Coach Caroline can now sit on her knees after three years.
[02:03] Coach Caroline deliberately and persistently exercised after realizing she had lost her flexibility and had to contend with limited movements. She hoped they would improve over time. Surprisingly, it worked, but she had to put up with the discomfort and anguish during the procedure.
Quitting Before Starting
[02:25] In the RunRX membership, there are folks who never submit their gait analysis and only send in one check-in before deciding our method and teaching aren't for them. And that's all right. However, it’s worth noting that you're abandoning a project before it's even begun. Why not take advantage of the program in full since it has already been paid for?
[03:03] You've already spent the money, and the time will pass anyhow. Why are you dismissing the possibility of fixing something? You could learn to do push-ups, you could learn to regain hip flexibility, you could learn to squat, and the time will pass anyway. And the only thing keeping you from attaining your objective is your belief that you can't or don't want to do it. Why not give it a shot?
The Essence of Trying
[03:32] Perhaps you will not become the world's most exemplary push-up performer, and maybe you can't do more than ten push-ups with perfect form. But, the fact that you're prepared to try it will significantly impact your self-esteem in a positive way. It will have a positive impact on how you do things. It will strengthen your core and your mind. But mainly, it will test your self-perception and make you realize that you are the only one keeping you back.
